Join Springboard Performance to take part in the Redux Series, presented as a part of the containR Festival. containR would like to give a platform to bring back work created by Calgary’s local and university communities whose presentations were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent closures and postponements in the spring.
REDUX SERIES, a do-over of sorts, will provide the opportunity to mount your work during the months of August and September at our culture hub located in the Sunnyside community. Our space is uniquely positioned to showcase works at a time when indoor Arts presenters are forced to keep their doors locked. The containR site offers plenty of space and open air for people to connect at a safe distance. In the process, it allows the Arts to do what it does best — spark meaningful conversations and connections, especially now that we are called to keep distance.
We are looking to showcase dance/theatre/music/interdisciplinary works that were in the final phase of production right before the closures precipitated by COVID-19. We are offering an honorarium ranging from $100 to $1,000, depending on the number of performers, number of performances and rehearsals required. In addition, we will provide the performance space (and rehearsal space*), tech support and guidance. And you get to see your work come to life!
*We are open to discuss the availability of rehearsal space for those who require it. However, please keep in mind that containR is a public space used by community members.
