ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Troy Emery Twigg and Olivia Tailfeathers are both Blackfoot from the Kainai Nation. Both artists have worked together on many performances and presentations over the years to get her and in other collectives from Older and Reckless at Moonhorse Dance Theatre in Toronto 2007 to Iniskim with the Canadian Academy of Mask and puppetry 2020. They have a long standing relationship as either informers, educators presenters, participants with communities, theatre company’s institutions like the Banff Centre, University of Lethbridge, York University, Sashar Zarif Dance Threatre, Dance Collection Danse, Canada Dance Festival to name a few as. It’s to be part of this years Fluid Festival
TROY EMERY TWIGG
Troy Emery Twigg is Blackfoot from the Kainai Nation . He is an actor, dancer, choreographer, director and dramaturg. His work has been presented nationally and internationally. He has worked with Decidedly Jazz Dance, the Prairie Dance Exchange and presented works in Springboard Dance Fluid Festival, the Banff Centre, Dance Made in Canada, Prismatic Festival, Dancing on The Edge, to name a few. He was recently a guest faculty member with the Banff Centre for the Arts Contemporary Dance Program and Raven Spirit’s Indigenous Ground Dance Training. He was also co curator of By Invitation Only and exhibit by Dance Collection Dance. He just recently finished filming a new dance film by Julia Aplin. This is Troy’s second appearance at the Fluid Fest
