ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

This call is specifically for Calgary participants.

Applicants must have created and publicly presented three 7-10 minute dance (or physically-based movement) works prior to applying.

Artists must also be emerging, and not recognized as established artists with a substantial record of accomplishment. (If you are unsure whether you qualify or not, please contact  info@springboardperformance.com).

Artists must be ready and willing to work with a mentor of their choosing with recommendations, if needed, from the Selection Committee and Project Staff. Final mentors are confirmed in consultation with the artist.

In consultation with their mentor, artists will create and present 20-25 minutes of new work centered in physical movement, as well as commit to creating and connecting in October 2020, or in the winter of 2021 if delays for public gatherings are required by the Government of Canada and provincial health organisations.

There is NO application fee.

Students in K-12 educational programs are not eligible. Individuals enrolled in undergraduate or graduate degree programs are not eligible, with one exception. If an artist enrolls in an undergraduate or graduate degree program and takes classes while maintaining a current and active professional practice of creating and presenting work to the public, they are eligible. If you have questions, please contact info@springboardperformance.com well before the deadline.

Applications and any questions can be submitted to info@springboardperformance.com

DEADLINE TO APPLY IS MAY 8, 2020 at 11:59PM.
