INGRID DÍAZ CÉSPEDES
Born and raised in Cuba, Ingrid is a graduate of the Cuban National School of Art (BFA Modern, Contemporary and Afro-Cuban Dance, 2002) and the National Institute of Art (MA Afro-Cuban Dance, 2005). Ingrid is also a graduate of the School of Ballet Creole (Toronto, 2007) and Decidedly Jazz Professional Training Program (Calgary, 2011).
Ingrid has developed her professional career performing, choreographing and teaching in prestigious schools and companies in Cuba and Canada. Most recently Ingrid became Assistant Director of Decidedly Jazz Professional Training Program while also continuing to create with Three Left Feet Movement Creations as Artistic Producer. Since 2019 Ingrid has been a sessional instructor for The School of Creative and Performing Arts of the University of Calgary.
LUIS ‘EL PANA’ TOVAR
Venezuelan born Luis ‘El Pana’ Tovar has been mastering his craft on world percussion instruments for over 25 years. Leader of the salsa band Distrito Salsa, founding member of the world fusion band, Cumako and collaborator with multiple national and international artists such as Willy Colon, Tito Nieves, Maelo Ruiz, Oscar de Leon, Pavlo and Rik Emmett, Brian Hughes, Luis Bonilla, Michael Mossman and Oscar Lopez Trio, to name a few. Luis Tovar is always eager to explore and create in a variety of styles, which lead him to the creation of his first album ‘Everything I Like’, in 2014. His latest album ‘Un Cambio de Actitud’, released in 2019, features artists from Venezuela and Canada, merging jazz, R & B, Afro Venezuelan and Cuban music.
